Discover a Side of Grand Central Station That Only Comes Out After Dark

You’ve seen the ceiling. You’ve missed your train. But have you ever stumbled through the bars of Grand Central? Brace yourself for a New York bar crawl, with Bill Schulz as your witty guide. Together, you’ll uncover the scandalous secrets and watering holes that make this Beaux-Arts landmark as much about martinis as Metro-North.

From secret speakeasies to legendary lounges, this crawl takes you through cool bars near and inside Grand Central while serving up tales of mobsters, movie stars, and mole-people rumors that make you wish walls could talk. In fact we’ll literally show you some walls that do talk! Equal parts history and happy hour, it’s one of the best bar crawl NYC experiences for anyone interested in stumbling into a good time.

Pro Tips

  • Although much of this crawl takes place indoors, Grand Central can get crowded with commuters at certain times of day. Comfortable shoes make everything easier, especially as we move between bars and through the station.
  • Food isn’t something you’ll struggle to find around Grand Central. If you want something before or after the tour, Rosie Dunn’s(opens in a new tab) and Cipriani Dolci(opens in a new tab) are both solid picks and easy to get to from the concourse.
  • Restrooms are available throughout Grand Central, though lines can pop up during peak rush-hour windows. Every subway line that serves Grand Central will work well for getting to the meeting point.
  • Your guide will relay how to (semi-legally) get a photo op(opens in a new tab) with iron eagles salvaged from the original Grand Central Depot while confessing as to why he’s still determined to one day sneak into Track 61(opens in a new tab).
